Tuesday, 30 May 2006 1:35 P GMT-05
Over the lovely long weekend I knit a little and did some yard work. I also spent some time spindling, or actually, trying to spindle. I am beginning to think I am really dumb. I start off ok. I can hook the roving on the hook. I then begin to turn t

Dear Red Heart sock yarn, I know you have been sitting in the stash forever a while. That says nothing about the way I feel about you. I know you've seen other skeins leave the stash and not return and that this is your dream too but this isn't your

I never realized how difficult it is to get a good decent picture of your own feet. Sorry for the glaring whiteness that is my skin. I tried for a smaller than usual photo. See the little socklets I made using this pattern (It's a pdf,

First topic: The gray socks are done and they fit well. Of course 2x2 rib does make for a great fitting sock. The yarn is leftover gray Regia I had hanging in the stash. The pattern is a simple out of my head one based on the Yankee Knitter pattern.

Holding Out

Last week my phone rang and I was surprised that it was someone calling to tell me that I won something at the NHS&W festival. Every time I've gone I have always bought a few tickets for the vendors raffle. I spend a few minutes putting my ticket

Remember when you were a child and you'd be running downhill and you'd run faster and faster all the while knowing you were running too fast and you were ready to fall but some how you just kept going. I feel like that. Everything is moving just way

My Eyes

N needed his Red Sox hat this morning. That bright disc has returned to our sky and the clouds have moved on. It seems really overly sunny after having over a week of grey days. We've been rather relaxed with the clean up after yourself rules in this

Wet

If you are from New England you may have noticed the rain. It has been raining forever, or at least it seems that way. In our house we have been very lucky. Only the tiniest amount of water has seeped through the floor, yes, you read that correctly.

Another One

It's all dishcloths all the time here lately. There is nothing like a little quick satisfaction. This is more of the Lily Sugar 'N Cream. I swear I only bought 3 skeins but they are neverending! The pattern is Nicole's Basic Knit Diagonal Dishcl

Oohs and Aahs

We had quite the little surprise here this morning. N's little bean plant has flowers. He's thrilled. I'm surprised. We don't usually have seedlings hang on this long. You have to be hardy to survive in our house. The weather better hurry u

Late to the Party

In my real life as wife and mother I am the one who keeps things humming. We are normally on time and full functioning. In my life as a knitter/blogger, ah, not so much. I knew there were podcasts and I've even listened to them. Some are very good, o

Weekend Doings

There are many exciting reports of MDS&W. We didn't have that kind of excitement here. We had a quieter time with fewer animals. Friday evening I finished the Mason Dixon dishcloth. It's interesting to knit. The only thing I was unhappy with was

HELLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

I guess right about now everyone is gone to MD. My bloglines is empty. I am feeling very scattered. I have lost the ability to stick with one thing for any length of time. Not even the sock is holding my attention. Here is the Mason Dixon dishcloth

The Plan

Wednesday, 3 May 2006 7:39 A GMT-05
We've got another gray rainy day here so forgive what may or may not be lousy photos. Ah yes, the plan was to start a sock from "Sensational Knitted Socks" so that I'd have a project to jump into at home when I finished N's socks that I n

Rainy Day Blogging

I finished N's socks last night while watching "Texas Ranch House". They came out very cute and would you believe they nearly match. That's a first for me. I really love fraternal socks so this really was a mistake coincidense. The pattern
